Zen Shiatsu

Zen Shiatsu is a form of bodywork administered by thumbs, fingers, palms and elbows, feet and knees. It depends for its success on a meditative activity of the practitioner, aimed especially at detecting the body responses to the treatment, which influences the subsequent treatment step by step. The pressure is applied to all parts of the body along specific pathways (meridians). These are essentially the same meridians that are used in traditional Chinese medicine for acupuncture, though modified and extended. It is understood that this technique stimulates the natural healing powers of the body, wherefore symptoms of disease lessen and vitality is regained. 

 

While receiving a Shiatsu treatment you lie on a futon wearing comfortable clothes. Through pressure and stretching techniques, your body and mind will reach a deep level of relaxation and calmness. It is in this state of peacefulness the bodymind is able to release tensions we carry around and that affect our wellbeing.
 

Breathwork & Meditation

Creating awareness and paying attention to our breathing patterns supports and grounds the bodymind. Practices to access the full breath and thus replenish the body with oxygen for longer periods of time supports the renewal of cells in our body.  It also creates a pause for the nervoussystem and we offer ourselevs space to reflect on what is going on inside and outside of ourselves. 

Together with meditation, this is a beautiful practice of creating and expanding more of that space so that emotions and thoughts that go on repeat in our lives can change in a way that is good for us in our lives.

 

There are several techniques in both breathwork and meditation. In a class or one on one session, you will be offered what supports you the most in this moment. In the observation of your breath, we are looking for the most natural way to access this space of stillness through our bodymind.

 

Reiki

Reiki is a universal energy that we can connect to at any point to help us in life. It is a natural way of healing body and mind, a tool for everyone to solve pain and stress in a natural way through the human touch.

 

During a session, you will lie on a futon mattress in comfortable clothes and receive reiki throughout the body.
